Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and polished Event Sales Manager to lead the event program at La Mercerie, the celebrated restaurant by Roman and Williams Guild, located in the heart of SoHo. La Mercerie is more than a restaurant—it is a Parisian-inspired destination where cuisine, design, retail, and hospitality intertwine. Guests dine among the Roman and Williams Guild’s handcrafted furnishings, tableware, and lighting—each element a reflection of artistry, culture, and timeless hospitality.

 

The Event Sales Manager will drive and manage all event sales and execution for private dining, semi-private gatherings, hosted experiences, and full restaurant buyouts. With a focus on both client cultivation and flawless delivery, this role requires a sales-oriented professional who combines creativity, operational strength, and a passion for hospitality. You will also collaborate with the broader Roman and Williams Guild team to connect La Mercerie’s dining experiences to the Guild’s retail, floral, and design offerings, extending the spirit of the brand through each event.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Prospect, secure, and manage a full range of events—from private dinners to corporate receptions and hosted cultural gatherings

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary contact from inquiry to post-event follow-up

  • Collaborate with culinary and beverage teams to design menus that reflect elegant, French-inspired cuisine

  • Create detailed proposals, floor plans, and event timelines that balance guest experience and operational flow

  • Partner with the Roman and Williams Guild retail team to align design, décor, and event styling with the brand aesthetic

  • Coordinate staffing, logistics, and vendor partnerships to ensure seamless execution

  • Manage contracts, deposits, invoicing, and forecasting for all event business

  • Represent La Mercerie with professionalism and warmth, embodying its refined yet approachable hospitality

What we’re looking for:

  • 3–5 years of experience in event sales or catering management within fine dining, luxury hospitality, or lifestyle venues

  • Proven success in driving event revenue while maintaining brand integrity and guest satisfaction

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a natural ability to connect with clients

  • Deep understanding of luxury service standards and the ability to execute events with precision and grace

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment

  • Financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiation

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as event demands require
