We are hiring a Hospitality Management Intern! 

 

  • Timing: SUMMER 2027 - May 2027 - August 2027
  • Location: MET Museum - 1000 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10028 
  • Schedule: Full-time / to be discussed further upon interview. 
  • Requirements: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Culinary Arts.
  • Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour.

Restaurant Associates – Hospitality Management Internship

Join our Hospitality Management Internship program and gain hands-on experience working alongside hospitality professionals and food service leaders in a fast-paced, real-world environment. As a Hospitality Management Intern, you’ll be immersed in the day-to-day operations of contract food service, developing practical skills and industry insight that will set the stage for your future success.

What You'll Learn: 

You'll rotate through different areas of the business to gain a well-rounded understanding of hospitality management, including:

  • Operations - Learn how day-to-day hospitality operations run, including guest experience, employee engagement, menu planning, staffing, and business performance.
  • Marketing - Gain experience with signage, branding, social media, special events, and other marketing efforts that drive guest engagement.
  • Purchasing & Quality Assurance - Learn about vendor partnerships, sourcing, inventory management, food safety, quality standards, and cost control.
  • Finance - Build an understanding of hospitality finance through exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, revenue tracking, and key business metrics.
  • Culinary - Gain hands-on experience with kitchen operations, recipe execution, service flow, and culinary best practices.
  • Catering & Events - Learn the ins and outs of catering and event management, including sales support, event logistics, staffing, and event execution for both small and large events.

 

 Additional Opportunities & Responsibilities

  • Visit other accounts to see different operations and gain exposure to the full scope of the business.
  • Complete a capstone project focused on improving an aspect of the operation and presenting your recommendations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to a positive guest experience.
  • Follow company policies, safety standards, and client expectations.

 

Internship candidates must meet the criteria below to be eligible for the Culinary Internship Experience Program:

  1. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or professional culinary program
  2. Meet university’s GPA requirement for internship
  3. Successful completion of sanitation standards training
  4. Successful completion of relevant knife skills and/or Intro to Culinary coursework
  5. Must be available to work 20 - 40 hours a week based on business needs & internship requirements
  6. College credit is not required, but we will provide appropriate documentation if necessary.

 

Hospitality Internship candidates must meet the criteria below to be eligible for the Hospitality Internship Experience Program:

  1. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or professional hospitality program
  2. Meet university’s GPA requirement for internship
  3. Successful completion of relevant Intro to Hospitality coursework
  4. Must be available to work 20 - 40 hours a week based on business needs & internship requirements
  5. College credit is not required, but we will provide appropriate documentation if necessary.
