Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hospitality-focused Restaurant Manager to join the team at Marcel, the new cultural destination from Roman and Williams in partnership with Sotheby's, located in the iconic Breuer Building on Madison Avenue.
 
Marcel is more than a restaurant. It is a destination where hospitality, cuisine, design, and art come together through a collection of unique dining and guest experiences.
 
The Restaurant Manager will play a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences, supporting team development, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys coaching and mentoring others, building strong teams, and delivering thoughtful service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Support daily front-of-house operations and help ensure an exceptional guest experience across multiple dining outlets
  • Lead and support service teams during daily operations, fostering a culture of hospitality, teamwork, and professionalism
  • Coach, develop, and mentor team members through ongoing training, feedback, and recognition
  • Partner closely with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, culinary leadership, and events teams to deliver seamless guest experiences
  • Build meaningful guest relationships and resolve concerns with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • Support scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, and other operational initiatives that contribute to business success
  • Collaborate with the events team to execute private dining experiences, special events, and hosted engagements
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, sanitation, and ServSafe standards
  • Help create an inclusive, respectful, and engaging environment where team members can learn, grow, and thrive

What We're Looking For

  • Restaurant leadership experience in fine dining, upscale hospitality, luxury hotels, or similarly service-focused environments
  • Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service, with curiosity and enthusiasm for continued learning
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and a high level of guest care
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills
  • Experience supporting staffing, scheduling, purchasing, and operational performance goals
  • A collaborative approach to leadership with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing others
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in a hospitality environment
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for guests and colleagues alike
