Salary: $73,000 to $83,000
Other Forms of Compensation: Bonus

Job Summary
The Scheduling & Payroll Manager is responsible for the administration of banquet scheduling and payroll for the Banquet Department at the New York Marriott Marquis. This position ensures accurate staffing, payroll processing, labor compliance, and schedule optimization for banquet servers while supporting the Senior Beverage Manager with bartender scheduling. The role is critical to maintaining appropriate staffing levels, controlling labor costs, and ensuring payroll accuracy in a high-volume convention hotel.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and maintain weekly banquet server schedules for both full-time and on-call associates based on forecasted business levels.
- Support the Senior Beverage Manager by assisting with creating and maintaining bartender schedules.
- Review event forecasts, BEOs, staffing guidelines, and labor standards to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure accurate processing of hours worked, meal breaks, premiums, overtime, holiday pay, and paid time off.
- Audit time punches and investigate discrepancies before payroll submission.
- Partner with department managers to resolve missed punches, scheduling conflicts, and payroll exceptions.
- Monitor labor productivity and provide reports identifying trends and opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Daily Responsibilities
- Review staffing needs against current business demand.
- Process schedule changes and call-out replacements.
- Respond to manager and employee scheduling inquiries.
- Audit timecards and resolve payroll exceptions.
- Communicate schedule updates promptly.
Weekly Responsibilities
- Publish banquet server schedules on 3 scheduling days.
- Coordinate bartender schedules with Beverage leadership.
- Complete payroll review and submission.
- Review labor reports and overtime trends.
- Update employee availability and roster information.
Monthly Responsibilities
- Review labor performance against budget.
- Identify scheduling efficiencies.
- Audit employee records for accuracy.
- Recommend process improvements.
