Salary:  $90,000 to $105,000

Job Summary

Overview

Join Union Square Events at the New York Marriott Marquis as a Senior Banquet Manager – Beverage Focus to lead a dynamic banquet operation while owning and elevating the beverage program across all events. This role combines full banquet operational leadership with strategic oversight of beverage execution, ordering, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the banquet department, leading all aspects of event execution from pre-function setup through post-event breakdown.
• Serve as the senior operations lead on high-profile, large-scale events and VIP functions.
• Manage and mentor banquet managers, servers, housemen, and bartenders to ensure seamless service and consistent quality.

Beverage Program Leadership

• Oversee the full beverage program for banquet operations, including bars, coffee breaks, and specialty beverage activations.
• Own beverage ordering, inventory management, and product allocation across all events.
• Manage beverage cost controls, including forecasting, tracking consumption, and maintaining budget targets.
• Develop and implement beverage standards, recipes, and service procedures.
• Analyze beverage performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and margins.
• Lead training and development for bartenders and banquet teams.

Operational & Leadership Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop staff; provide training, feedback, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate labor forecasting, scheduling, and payroll compliance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Address and resolve guest concerns.
• Identify and implement operational improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of banquet or event operations leadership experience.
• Strong beverage operations knowledge (inventory, bar management, cost control).
• Ability to manage complex events.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Financial acumen.
• Flexible schedule.
• Hospitality degree preferred.
