Salary:  $70,000 - $80,000 / year

Job Summary

As Assistant General Manager, you will partner with the GM to oversee operations serving 1,700–3,000 people daily across three cafés and a catering department. Services run Mon–Sat (breakfast/lunch) and Mon–Thu (dinner). You will manage budgets, ensure compliance with safety standards, deliver excellent service, and support team development and interdepartmental collaboration.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support account management, budgets, and client expectations.

  • Supervise, hire, train, coach, and schedule staff.

  • Maintain food and labor costs; manage purchasing, inventory, and cash handling.

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, health, and fire regulations.

  • Lead safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs.

  • Prepare and track budgets, forecasts, and financial targets.

  • Collaborate with chefs on menu planning.

  • Improve service, safety, and efficiency through process reviews.

  • Build strong relationships with staff, clients, and departments.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5–7 years upscale food service with at least 1 year multi-unit management.

  • Strong catering background required.

  • Knowledge of COGs, financial management, and budgeting strongly preferred.

  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; cash handling and inventory control experience.

  • ServSafe/Health certification a plus.

  • Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends).

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and strong communicator.
