Assistant Director of Cafe Management - Koch Center
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 / Year

Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Café Management supports daily food service operations at the Koch Center, a NYC healthcare facility. This leadership role oversees a café and coffee bar generating $3M in annual revenue, with a team of approximately 15 associates. The ideal candidate is a high-energy, adaptable professional with proven experience in financial oversight, labor costing, and staff scheduling. While the position is primarily Monday–Friday, schedule flexibility is required, including occasional weekend coverage for emergent needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of the café and coffee bar

Partner with culinary leadership to deliver high-quality, nutritious offerings

Launch new culinary and retail initiatives with marketing and culinary teams

Maintain strong client relationships in a healthcare environment

Manage, train, and develop a team of ~15 associates

Monitor financial performance with a focus on labor management and scheduling

Provide weekend support when needed and perform other assigned duties
Qualifications:

1–3 years of food service management experience

Prior experience in healthcare, hospitality, restaurants, corporate dining, education, or military

Strong leadership, communication, and financial skills
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Associate’s degree preferred
