Job Summary
The Community & Events Manager plays a key role in creating a vibrant, engaging workplace experience for associates and visitors within the TIAA New York office. This position blends community engagement, workplace programming, and meeting & event coordination to ensure the office environment supports collaboration, culture, and exceptional service.
The role works closely with TIAA’s internal Meeting & Events team, Business Resource Groups (BRGs), Workplace Services, and external vendors to plan and execute programming that enhances the associate experience while maintaining operational excellence.
This position is highly visible and requires a hospitality-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can seamlessly transition between strategic planning, event execution, and day-to-day workplace engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Workplace Experience
•Develop and implement community engagement initiatives that enhance the associate workplace experience.
•Partner with TIAA Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and internal stakeholders to support cultural, educational, and engagement programming.
•Create programming that drives office participation and community building, including seasonal activations, wellness events, and cultural celebrations.
•Serve as a visible ambassador of hospitality within the office, engaging with associates and building strong relationships.
•Support internal communication efforts related to programming and events through platforms such as Viva Engage and internal messaging channels.
Meetings & Event Planning
•Plan, coordinate, and execute internal meetings, corporate events, and workplace activations from concept through execution.
•Partner with TIAA’s internal Meeting & Events team to ensure seamless event logistics and alignment with client expectations.
•Manage event timelines, room reservations, catering coordination, AV needs, and vendor relationships.
•Oversee on-site event execution, ensuring the highest level of hospitality and service delivery.
•Track event participation and feedback to continuously improve programming and service delivery.
Workplace Services Collaboration
•Work closely with the Workplace Services team to align programming with office operations and space utilization.
•Coordinate scheduling and logistics for events occurring in shared meeting and collaboration spaces.
•Maintain strong partnerships with catering providers, facilities, security, and AV teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
Long Description
Operational Excellence
•Maintain detailed event calendars and planning documents to ensure visibility and coordination across teams.
•Manage budgets associated with programming and events, ensuring alignment with client guidelines.
•Ensure all events and programming adhere to client policies, operational standards, and safety guidelines.
•Support reporting and metrics related to participation, engagement, and workplace experience initiatives.
Qualifications
•3–5+ years of experience in event planning, workplace experience, hospitality, or community engagement.
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and projects simultaneously.
•Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset.
•Experience working in corporate environments or conference centers preferred.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible as priorities shift.
•Proficiency with workplace technology tools such as event scheduling platforms, Microsoft Office, and internal communication tools.
