Job Summary
The Coat Check Attendant is responsible for providing efficient, friendly, and organized service to guests by checking, storing, and returning personal belongings during events. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive guest experience in a fast-paced convention environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a professional and welcoming manner
- Receive and tag coats, bags, umbrellas, and other personal items
- Issue claim tickets and ensure accurate tracking of all items
- Hang and store items neatly and securely
- Retrieve belongings quickly and accurately upon guest request
- Resolve issues such as misplaced or lost items and escalate when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient coat check area
- Assist with setup and breakdown of coat check stations (racks, hangers, tickets, etc.)
- Follow all safety, security, and customer service standards
- Support team members and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume event setting
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry items such as coats and bags
- Comfortable working in crowded event environments
