Job Summary

Job Title: Dishwasher
Location: American Girl Place NY, New York, NY

The Dishwasher will maintain a clean and organized kitchen by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly washed, sanitized, and stored. This role supports the culinary and service teams by keeping all work areas safe, clean, and fully stocked. The Dishwasher will follow all sanitation and food safety guidelines to ensure a clean, efficient, and guest-ready operation.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, including sinks, machines, and floors

  • Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely

  • Sort, rinse, and load dirty dishes and utensils into dish machines

  • Hand wash large items and specialty cookware as needed

  • Ensure proper sanitation by using correct chemicals and water temperatures

  • Return clean items to appropriate storage areas promptly

  • Assist with trash removal and cleaning of kitchen surfaces

  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures according to Levy standards

Daily Tasks:

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking tools throughout shifts

  • Maintain cleanliness of dish station and surrounding areas

  • Restock dishwashing supplies such as detergents and sanitizer

  • Communicate with cooks and servers for efficient dish return and delivery

  • Perform closing duties including draining and cleaning dish machines

  • Support kitchen staff during peak service periods
