Job Summary
The Senior Analyst of Strategy and Analytics is a senior level position on the E15 analytics team within Levy. As a Senior Analyst of Strategy & Analytics, you would become E15’s primary point of contact with Levy's operators and clients at the Javits Convention Center in New York. This role will also be tied to Levy’s Convention Center portfolio and become a subject matter expert on the industry and sector by helping understand key trends and define various metrics to identify areas of opportunity for the Javits Convention Center. You would conduct several data-driven projects, including performance reporting and economic valuations, and serve as project manager for others, including the strategic deployment of E15’s proprietary analytics products. This is an in-person role based on-site at the Javits Convention Center.
Some of the core responsibilities of the Senior Analyst of Strategy and Analytics role are:
Strategic Partnership & Insight Delivery
- Managing relationships with key client and Levy stakeholders and understanding their overall strategies and business objectives
- Acts as a liaison with the team, including partner’s operational team, Levy team and other areas as needed to ensure efficient operational performance
- Identifying opportunities to optimize existing product offerings, distribution, and pricing
- Communicating key guest insights, industry trends, and conducting market research as needed to recommend changes to pricing or business models
- Produces high quality, meaningful, and precise presentations and complex reports that communicate key insights and findings to operation team and client
- Performing quarterly & annual partner reviews
Financial Analytics and Reporting
- Reporting periodically on operational and financial metrics, and creating an economic valuation of E15’s bottom-line impact
- Preforms tasks to assist with finance and accounting such as:
- Maintaining accurate and efficient filing of financial archive files and data
- Provides accurate and targeted financial analysis as requested
- Ensures required department reports are completed and information is compiled at month-end closing
- Analyzes expenses and cost transactions; ensures that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments
- Provides detailed financial analysis and reports of expenses, includes breakdowns of project and event costs, trends, and forecasts of remaining expenses
- Prepares periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs
Data Analysis
- Identifies goals, develops best practices for data collection, and analyzes current processes to determine what can be improved to achieve desired outcome
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations to increase efficiency and improve decision-making processes internally or at customer levels.
- Managing or directly completing ad hoc analytics projects as appropriate
Innovation and Subject Matter Expertise
- Developing specific knowledge about convention centers, including physical configuration, technology and operational processes
- Leverage AI, consumer insights, and emerging technologies to advance hospitality excellence.
- Collaborates with the broader E15 team on tools, processes, and analytical solutions
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in business analytics, computer science, statistics, economics, finance, or a related field. Business Degree and/or CPA certification is preferred
- 3-5 years of professional experience in a finance, accounting, consulting, or analyst role (hospitality/food and beverage industry preferred)
- Experience (work or school assignments) in at least one of the following tools:
- SQL
- Statistical software package (R strongly preferred)
- data visualization (Tableau strongly preferred)
- High level of computer literacy with expertise in Excel modeling, with work experience in financial modeling and a clear understanding of basic financial statements
- Experience using data visualization tools, visual features of statistical software tools or PowerPoint to communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences
- Ability to document, prepare, and deliver effective presentations to a wide-range audience, all the way up to the executive and C-suite level
- Passion for or prior experience in client service, hospitality, food, and/or retail
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with peers and other departmental team members and can share examples of excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills within a team environment
- Can share examples of how they have used data and analytical capabilities to solve complex problems
- Can share example of effective storytelling with data
- Can share examples of how they have used creativity to achieve excellent outcomes
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a tight deadline driven environment and the ability to adjust to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and possess strong problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented and highly organized with excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work non-standard hours as dictated by event schedule
