PM CONFERENCE CENTER MANAGER

Salary: $125000 - $135000 / year

Job Summary

The Conference Center Manager will support the evening activities and be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, operational oversight, and successful execution of conference center services, meetings, and events within the Client Center. This role oversees the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of high-profile and complex meetings and events while leading a team of hospitality professionals dedicated to providing an exceptional client and guest experience.

 

Serving as the primary client contact and operational leader, the Conference Center Manager partners with meeting hosts, executives, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative event solutions, operational excellence, and world-class hospitality. The Conference Center Manager drives business results through strong client relationships, team development, service excellence, and the achievement of key performance indicators, including profitability, safety, engagement, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.

 

This position requires demonstrated experience leading and developing teams within a corporate hospitality, conference center, workplace experience, or luxury service environment. The Conference Center Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The role champions employee development through performance management, coaching, career planning, and succession planning initiatives.

 

The Conference Center Manager regularly interacts with senior executives, VIP clients, and key stakeholders and is expected to deliver a refined, white-glove service experience while confidently managing multiple priorities and operational demands. The Conference Center Manager is empowered to make critical operational decisions, resolve complex client and service challenges, and implement proactive solutions that protect and enhance the client experience while escalating matters appropriately based on scope, risk, or business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a diverse team to deliver exceptional hospitality and conference center services.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and service-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Identify staffing needs and support workforce planning to ensure appropriate coverage and service delivery standards are maintained.
  • Deliver a high-touch, luxury hospitality experience for clients, executives, and guests by anticipating needs and consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Focus on afternoon and evening events
  • Oversee all event-related services, including audio visual support, food and beverage, room setups, facilities coordination, signage, security requirements, and special accommodations.
  • Lead the day-of operational execution of complex and VIP events, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and service partners.
  • Maintain flexibility to support evening and weekend events as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in luxury hospitality, conference center operations, and executive-level client service.
  • Strong leadership experience managing, developing, and motivating teams in a hospitality or client-facing environment.
  • Advanced event management expertise, including strategic planning, logistics management, operational execution, and service delivery.
  • Strong client consultation skills with the ability to transform business objectives into innovative and practical solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to confidently navigate high-pressure situations.
  • Strong operational leadership presence with the ability to align cross-functional teams and service partners around common goals.
  • Experience managing vendor and service partner relationships while maintaining accountability for performance outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with executives, VIP clients, and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality execution.
  • Proficiency with workplace technology, reservation systems, event management platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Discreet, ethical, and committed to maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Collaborative, accountable, and committed to delivering outstanding client experiences while achieving business objectives.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience managing complex meetings, events, hospitality operations, or conference center services in a corporate, financial services, executive, conference center, workplace experience, or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience managing and developing hospitality, conference services, workplace experience, or event operations teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams through coaching, employee development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of audio visual services, catering operations, event production, room setups, and conference center operations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple internal departments and external service providers.
  • Experience working directly with senior executives, VIP clients, and other highly visible stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
