Job Summary
Restaurant Associates, the leader in premier food and hospitality services, is seeking a Sous Chef to join our team at Google’s iconic Pier 57. This role anchors a high-end, high-volume catering program that supports everything from daily executive dining to large-scale receptions and events for up to 3,000 guests.
As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Chef de Cuisine of Pier 57, balancing hands-on cooking with leadership, planning, and multi-venue support. This position operates Monday through Friday across breakfast, lunch, and dinner receptions, with a few weekend events each year and occasional floating support to nearby buildings.
What You’ll Do
• Execute daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner events while driving production for large-scale receptions and activations.
• Partner with the Chef de Cuisine to create seasonal menus, plan logistics, and ensure exceptional event execution.
• Support a wide range of elevated, high-profile events with occasional weekend needs.
• Collaborate with internal partners to deliver seamless service across Pier 57 and additional venues as needed.
• Train, mentor, and develop culinary talent in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation.
What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years of catering experience in high-volume or upscale culinary environments.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance production, planning, and event execution.
• Proven ability to perform in large-scale, logistics-driven operations.
• Food Safety Certification required; ServSafe strongly preferred.
• A hands-on, collaborative leader who excels in both kitchen production and event-driven service.
