Job Summary
The Senior Café Manager is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of a high-volume corporate dining operation, overseeing all café services from opening through close. This hands-on, high-visibility leadership role directs the execution of breakfast and lunch service for up to 1,000 guests daily while managing, coaching, and developing a team of up to 20 associates.
The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence by maintaining strict cost controls, delivering an elevated guest experience, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, safety, and sanitation. This leader will foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and hospitality while consistently exceeding client expectations and upholding the standards of a world-class dining program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Interviews, hires, trains and coaches employees and entry level managers
- Plans, assigns and directs job duties
- Participates in employee meetings, reviews and development
- Ensures compliance with proper sanitation and cleaning standards
- Prepares and maintains volume trend analysis report on a daily basis
- Plans, markets and executes special events/promotions in the café
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- At least three years of upscale food service experience, including three years at the management level
- 3 years of management experience is required for this role
- Experience in a high-volume food service hospitality setting required
- Supervising, scheduling, training, management & coaching skills
- Knowledge of basic work area operations, company, and client policies and procedures
- Operational knowledge of the cash handling procedures and operation of food service equipment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification a plus
