Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Catering Manager to join our team at a premier, high-volume corporate dining account in NYC. This leadership role is responsible for the successful execution of all catering operations, including event sales support, client communications, event scheduling, staff training, planning, delivery, setup, breakdown, and accurate invoicing for daily events.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic and energetic hospitality professional with extensive catering experience in high-volume environments. We are looking for someone who stays ahead of industry trends, brings fresh ideas and inspiration to the team, and has a genuine passion for food and hospitality. This individual will work closely with the Executive Chef to develop innovative catering concepts and memorable guest experiences.
Success in this role requires a creative mindset, strong operational expertise, and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys exploring new restaurants, embraces emerging culinary trends, and brings that enthusiasm into their work every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Catering Operations (planning, execution, and ongoing oversight)
- Supervision and Staff Development
- Culinary Programs - collaborative, effective partnership with the culinary team
- Customer Service - you're dedicated to providing exceptional guest service to our client & the team
- Financial Management and Analysis
- Special Events (planning and execution)
- Marketing and Sales
Preferred Qualifications:
- A.S. or equivalent experience
- At least three years of hands-on Catering Management experience in a high-volume setting
- Able to work evenings as needed for events
- Ability to interact with a diverse and high-volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Ability to operate a web-based ordering system, process customer requests, make changes to orders, menu updates, and client profiles.
- Proficient with business tech and communication tools
- Ability to write professional and efficient emails to clients and customers.
- Possess the ability to meet company-specific uniform standards for this position.
- Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment per Company guidelines.
- Ability to work at times with minimal supervision, and accomplish tasks without direct instruction, and problem solve for the best solutions.
