Salary: $80,000 - $85,000

Job Summary
Are you a creative, passionate, and high‑energy culinary leader ready to take charge of a dynamic catering program? Chartwells Higher Education is seeking an experienced Catering Executive Chef to oversee $1.5 million in annual catering sales and elevate the culinary experience for events across campus. If you thrive in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments and love crafting memorable dining experiences, this is the role for you. As the Catering Executive Chef, you will guide all kitchen operations for our robust catering program. You’ll lead menu innovation, ensure flawless execution, develop culinary talent, and uphold the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation—all while adhering to corporate programs and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regular and modified menus that align with established culinary guidelines and client needs
- Train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff in food preparation, equipment operation, food safety, and sanitation
- Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for all culinary workspaces and equipment
- Oversee inventory levels to meet operational demands while achieving cost‑control targets
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
- Maintain an exceptional standard of culinary quality, presentation, and consistency
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the success of the catering program
Qualifications
- A.S. degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- 3–5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Strong knowledge of current food and catering trends, with an emphasis on quality, cost control, sanitation, and presentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet tools
- Extensive catering experience is a major plus
- High‑volume, complex foodservice management experience is highly desirable
- ServSafe certification strongly preferred
