Job Summary

Supervises hourly associates to ensure their practices comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Job Summary:

    The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the stewarding team, ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of all kitchen and back-of-house areas. They maintain hygiene standards, oversee dishwashing operations, and support kitchen and banquet operations by ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and in good condition.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise stewarding team to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and dishware.
    • Maintain hygiene and safety standards as per HACCP or local health guidelines.
    • Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, stored, and handled properly.
    • Assist in the setup and breakdown of banquet functions by ensuring timely delivery and return of all required equipment.
    • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and stewarding tools.
    • Schedule and assign daily tasks to stewards and monitor their performance.
    • Train new stewarding staff and conduct refresher training on safety and sanitation procedures.
    • Coordinate with chefs and banquet team to ensure smooth kitchen and event operations.
    • Report any malfunctioning equipment or hazards to the Engineering and/or Kitchen Management team.
    • Conduct regular inspections of the stewarding area and keep proper documentation.
    • Monitor usage of cleaning chemicals and ensure proper handling and storage.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in hospitality or culinary arts preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in stewarding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Familiarity with sanitation standards and kitchen operations.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Good communication and organizational skills.
    • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and carry/lift moderate weights
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
