Job Summary

The District Chef oversees culinary operations across multiple corporate dining accounts while directly supporting café operations in the Omaha, Lincoln, and Sioux City markets. This role combines multi-site leadership with hands-on support, helping develop culinary teams, drive innovation, and ensure consistent food quality, safety, and financial performance.

Most locations operate Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch, with occasional evening and weekend catering support required.


Key Responsibilities:

 

Multi-Site Culinary Leadership

  • Oversee and support multiple corporate dining accounts
  • Coach, train, and mentor chefs to improve performance and consistency
  • Elevate culinary skills and build strong, capable teams

Operations & Execution

  • Provide direct café support as needed, including daily operations coverage
  • Assist with event and catering execution, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Support day-to-day accounting responsibilities when covering units

Menu & Program Development

  • Guide chefs in menu planning, development, and execution
  • Drive culinary innovation across all accounts
  • Roll out new programs in partnership with marketing and culinary teams

Financial & Operational Excellence

  • Support chefs in managing food and labor costs
  • Teach best practices for purchasing, inventory, and waste reduction
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality production across all locations

Customer Experience & Training

  • Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Deliver training to ensure consistent food quality and service
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years of culinary management experience
  • 2+ years of multi-site leadership experience
  • High-volume production and catering experience required
  • Proven experience managing food and labor costs
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills

Preferred

  • Culinary degree
  • Desire to grow within a high-performing foodservice organization
