Position Overview:
PSU Dining is looking for a creative, outgoing, and driven Marketing Intern to help promote campus dining services and boost student engagement. This dynamic, hands-on role includes running real-time marketing campaigns, digital content creation, event promotion, and supporting the integration of the Boost Mobile Ordering app on campus. If you’re passionate about food, tech, and student life, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and executing marketing strategies for PSU Dining operations and student-focused events.
- Lead promotional efforts for the Boost Mobile Ordering app, including tabling, demos, and digital outreach to encourage student adoption and drive revenue.
- Create engaging and fun content for social media (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) that highlights daily menus, events, sustainability initiatives, and student feedback.
- Design flyers, digital signage, and promotional materials for dining locations and events around campus.
- Collect and analyze student feedback through surveys, tabling, and digital tools to improve dining experiences.
- Help plan and promote on-campus events like themed dining nights, giveaways, and chef pop-ups.
- Keep PSU Dining’s web pages and internal platforms updated with current and relevant information.
- Monitor key performance metrics like engagement, event participation, and feedback results.
- Collaborate with dining services staff, student groups, and university departments for campus-wide promotional efforts.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Strong content creation skills and an eye for design (experience with Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools preferred)
- Familiar with social media platforms and current trends
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects
- Outgoing personality – comfortable talking to students, working tables, and promoting PSU Dining across campus
- Interest in food, student life, and digital engagement
Job Summary
This position is paid, but not eligible for benefits such as medical, relocation, or housing.
Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Business needs may vary from year to year.
