Position Title: Restaurant & Cafe Manager-USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center

Pay Rate: $2,200- $2,400 per week

Location:  USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center - New York City, NYSeasonal dates of employment: August 22nd - September 12th - 2022

Job Summary

The Restaurants & Cafés Manager oversees the daily operations of restaurant and café locations to deliver exceptional guest experiences while achieving operational, financial, and service goals. This role manages front-of-house operations, supports food and beverage quality, leads and develops team members, ensures compliance with company policies and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement in guest satisfaction and business performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of restaurant and café outlets to ensure efficient and consistent service.
  • Lead, coach, schedule, and develop supervisors and hourly team members.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly resolve service concerns.
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and hospitality standards are consistently maintained.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to execute menus, promotions, and special events.
  • Manage labor, scheduling, and staffing levels to meet operational demands.
  • Monitor financial performance, including sales, labor costs, inventory, and operating expenses.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and oversee product ordering and receiving.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Analyze operational metrics and implement improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development initiatives.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of progressive restaurant or hospitality management experience.
  • Experience managing multiple food and beverage outlets preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, budgeting, and inventory control.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification or the ability to obtain certification as required.
