Job Summary
Chartwells K12 is seeking a Business Development Associate, who shares our values, wants to work with a team of great individuals, who must win and wants to join winners, and is committed to contributing to and being part of our success. Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Sales and supporting (2) Regional Sales Directors, the Business Development Associate will aggressively sell business to the K12 sector, generating leads and developing prospects, and assisting in selling to clients in the Texas territory.
The successful candidate will share our values of excellence and integrity. The candidate will work with a sense of urgency with our prospective clients to understand their current and future foodservice needs and build strong relationships. The Business Development Associate will listen to and educate prospects on the benefits of working with Chartwells by clearly establishing the value of our services and how we are distinguished from our competitors – with our service, our culture, and our commitment to the very best student nutrition.
Candidate to be based near a major airport in TX.
Essential Functions and Key Tasks:
• Business Development Associate
• Reports to Regional Vice President
• Works across geographic region assigned
• 60% Travel
Key Responsibilities:
• High degree of Cold Call Prospecting (including email and social media)
• Learning and following our Compass sales process
• Extensive Prospect Research and Prospect Qualification
• Time and Territory Management
• Marketing and Sales Support as needed
• Trade Show Support
• Building strong internal and external relationships
• Attend Board Meetings and Community Events within territory
• Assist with proposal Development/RFP Responses
• Database Management / Maintenance/Accurate Reporting
• Assist with sales presentations
• Survey Support / Execution
• Assisting in proforma development
• Contract Support
Qualifications:
• Ability to listen to prospects, understand their needs and communicate effectively (oral and written communication) both externally with prospects and clients and internally within our organization
• Ability to build and foster relationships with individuals at all levels, being a true representative of the Chartwells K12 culture and brand, and ability to contribute in closing new business
• Ability to understand financials and contribute to meeting or exceeding territory sales quota
• K12 or Foodservice Sales Experience is required
• Minimum of 2 years of successful “service” sales experience required.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office, CRM, social media, Hubspot) and financial acumen
• Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in the assigned sales territory
• Bachelor’s Degree
