Job Summary:
Working as a Director of Finance, you will be responsible for all division financial activities, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This position supports the Division Vice President and plays a critical role in providing financial guidance, insight, and strategy to support business growth and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Generate accurate and timely financial data that guides strategic decision-making.
- Ensure completion of weekly/monthly financial statements, including monthly operating reports, ad hoc reporting and forecasts.
- Provide fiscally responsible financial updates to senior executive team by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
- Build trust with the Division Vice President and Regional Vice Presidents to maximize profitability, achieve budget targets, and limit risks.
- Partner with the Division Vice President to set regional targets for revenue and profitability growth for forecasts and budgets.
- Work to identify and solve for any gaps in the financial health of the division.
- Coach, train, and develop a team of regional controllers who report directly to this position.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University in Accounting or Finance; Master’s Degree is a plus
- Seven to ten years of finance and/or accounting experience; experience in a K-12 education setting is preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and contracts
- Ability to effectively present information to executive-level leadership
- Advanced proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word
- Ability to manage and lead teams
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
