Job Summary
Compass Group North America is seeking a Product Owner to join our technology team supporting Foodbuy, our procurement subsidiary. As Product Owner, you will be expected to establish a collaborative partnership with key stakeholders and directly work on an Foodbuy technology agile team, consisting of developers and quality analysts. In this role you will partner with Scrum Master and Development Manager to hold the team accountable to delivering on the needs of the business. Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and research skills. In addition to being a seasoned, well-trained professional, the successful candidate will be passionate about supporting the agile team to deliver high quality business solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Owning and prioritizing an agile team backlog
- Leading user story refinement sessions, collaborating with an agile team to break down and understand the business outcomes needed.
- Creating and owning User Stories and approving the final product.
- Collaboration with product manager and/or stakeholders to translate business requirements and needs into technical requirements the agile team can consume.
- Leading product development demos.
- Forming strong working relationships with stakeholders and other cross functional leaders.
- Performing to Scaled Agile standards.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in an IT Product Ownership / Project Management role supporting application development (ideally large enterprise or critical software applications).
- Creative problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and gaining consensus across multiple user groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility to work with teams, individuals and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people.
- Ability to easily build new relationships and proactively establish a variety of contacts across the organization.
Bonus Qualifications - Experience working in a SAFe / Agile / Scrum environment
- Formal training or certification as Product Owner, Business Analyst, or project/product management
- Experience with Azure DevOpsExperience with SQL
- Background in foodservice and/or menu management tools
