Job Summary
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening to join our team as a Sr. Consultant - Construction. Project consultants with a construction focus lead the technical infrastructure and systems coordination assisting internal and external teams with the deployment and verification of technology systems and associated infrastructure for new building construction and renovation projects. Remote / home-based work is anticipated as the primary workplace assuming the candidate meets the minimum home-office requirements. Candidates must have the ability to travel to attend on-site meetings and visit project sites. Overnight travel may be required to support projects and conferences located outside the candidate's home area. Daily responsibilities will include the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the technical oversight of project teams in the deployment and verification of technology systems and associated infrastructure for new building construction and renovation projects
- Take ownership of projects and the processes. Challenge ideas and find ways to improve work products and processes.
- Provide technical oversight of the deployment of technology systems
- Verify the deployment and proper functioning of technology systems at client locations and offsite staging facilities
- Assist the project team with project delivery, including meeting preparation and participation, report writing, and general coordination
- Provide regular project updates and reporting to owner. This will typically include lists of non-compliant items identifying relevant dates and responsible parties.
- Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on presentation technologies including involvement with client training and initial technical support
- Build relationships that ensure successes for both internal and external teams
- Troubleshoot audiovisual and videoconferencing related technology
- Maintain understanding of current and new technology
- Pursue ongoing professional growth and development of technical skills
- Assist and contribute to the Waveguide community
Job Qualifications
- 8 to 10 years of relevant professional experience managing professional AV/IT projects, preferably as an independent consultant
- Four-year or higher degree in a relevant technical field (BSEE)
- AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) professional certification, CTS I preferred
- 50-80% travel anticipated (combination of local day trips and some domestic and international travel)
- In addition, project experience with a $2 to $5 million AV budget, experience with multi-year deployments, and international project experience is desired
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables and shift priorities as necessary
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of commercial low voltage technology systems, applications and operations
- Understanding of commercial/institutional building design and construction, including understanding of typical building systems (i.e. HVAC, electrical, lighting, building controls, security, etc.)
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in all MS Office applications
- Suitable environment for audio and video calls
