Job Summary
Compass Group USA is in search of a dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead design & construction efforts for one of our global clients. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded in design concepts, retail environments, brands, construction process, budgeting, bid process, project management, be knowledgeable with LEED & WELL Building Standards, and possess exceptional communication and people skills.
As a part of the Envision Design & Build Team within Compass Group, the Senior Project Manager, will be responsible for managing multiple projects across a corporate portfolio in the AMER region with possible future projects within global regions. This role will develop, direct, and manage the project development from concept through completion, ensuring adherence to program objectives. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for project oversight, coordination, and resolution of complex issues while adding value to the business. This role will be responsible for both internal team management and external partner direction while fostering strong client relationships and effectively addressing challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise and management of multiple individual and multi-site food & beverage projects for Envision Group.
- Establish and maintain project goals and success criteria.
- Develop and manage project proposals.
- Develop, direct, and manage projects from concept development through completion, including procurement.
- Create and maintain project dashboards for accurate reporting.
- Coordinate due diligence efforts and maintain documentation.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate potential liabilities and risks.
- Manage vendor and project team deliverables to meet contractual requirements.
- Manage project budget process, oversee projects schedules and reconciliations to meet project standards and deliverables that align with sector procedures.
- Monitor project performance against budgets, schedules and milestones.
- Work closely with Foodbuy to ensure full compliance and alignment with purchasing efforts, initiatives, and programs.
- Facilitate project meetings and ensure effective communication among stakeholders.
- Act as primary client and consultant contact throughout the project.
- Build rapport with client representatives and understand project scopes and external influences.
- Guide clients and project teams through the design implementation process.
- Contribute to improving best practices and standards of excellence.
- Contribute to relationship development and retention between Envision Group and our Internal Clients, External clients, and Customers.
- Support strategic partnerships to grow the external vendor / partner network that supports all these efforts with and go to market strategy with Design & Planning.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in corporate workplace and / or food and beverage design & construction, including managing and negotiating with designers, contractors and owner vendors; experience as a construction project manager is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, etc.)
- A minimum of 7 years of related experience experience, preferably within food & beverage and / or commercial real estate.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple / multi-site projects concurrently.
- Proven experience in successfully leading capital construction design and build function and managing in an environment undergoing change and transformation.
- Experience with management of company data and project management systems on project tracking and benchmarking.
- Highly organized with strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and, preferably, food service drawings.
- Strong knowledge of Custom Millwork Fabrication, Equipment manufacturing & distribution, and general FF&E knowledge base.
- Ability to manage all aspects of design & construction projects, including procurement, effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate potential liabilities and risks.
- Have a basic understanding of permitting processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to interact with clients, including presentations as requested.
- Proficiency with Smartsheets, Bluebeam, Google Workspace, Slack and MS Office.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
