Job Summary

The Production Manager of Fresh Foods supports the Sr. Production Manager in overseeing daily food production operations for Fresh & Ready Foods.  This role ensures that all products are assembled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with strict quality, safety, and sanitation standards.  The Production Manager is responsible for coordinating team activities, maintaining production timelines, and enforcing company policies and regulatory requirements while driving operational excellence.

 

Essential Job Functions
•    Assist the Sr. Production Manager in managing day-to-day food production operations.
•    Execute daily production management tasks to maintain efficiency and workflow.
•    Ensure all products meet established standards for quality, quantity, and food safety.
•    Monitor production timelines to ensure all food items are assembled accurately and on schedule.
•    Maintain strict adherence to sanitation standards and food safety regulations.
•    Review and follow production reports to ensure consistency and product quality.
•    Enforce company policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
•    Collaborate with the Production team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Oversee the daily operations of the Production and Prep Departments.
•    Develop, assign, and monitor work schedules for production staff to ensure optimal efficiency.
•    Ensure all team members consistently follow proper sanitation and hygiene procedures.
•    Supervise production staff, including assembly line workers, runners, machine operators, line leaders, and supervisors; escalate issues as needed.
•    Direct the staging and preparation of food items for assembly line production.
•    Monitor product presentation to ensure all food items meet company standards.
•    Verify that frozen food items are stored, labeled, and rotated properly in accordance with food safety regulations (FIFO practices).
•    Oversee food processing and preparation to ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.

 

Preferred Qualifications 
•    Experience in food production, manufacturing, or food service supervision preferred
•    Bilingual in (English/Spanish) communication skills preferred to support a diverse workforce. Proficiency in English required. 
•    Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA guidelines)
•    Leadership and team management skills
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•    Strong organizational and communication skills

 

Work Environment
•    Requires standing for extended periods and working in temperature-controlled environments 
•    May involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on production needs
