Job Summary

The Pastry Chef leads pastry production and creative development for the CoStar account, bringing thoughtful, high‑quality desserts and baked goods to a dynamic corporate dining environment. This role combines hands‑on pastry craftsmanship with menu innovation, product quality oversight, and collaboration with culinary and front‑of‑house partners.
 
You’ll support an elevated hospitality experience by producing beautiful, seasonal pastry offerings while ensuring efficient, safe, and consistent kitchen operations. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about pastry, enjoys creative expression, and thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, produce, and oversee all pastry and dessert items for daily service and catered events
  • Create and test new pastry concepts that highlight seasonal ingredients and align with RA standards
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all pastry offerings
  • Manage receiving and storage of all perishable pastry products
  • Follow HACCP and company food‑safety guidelines to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen
  • Maintain accurate production records, inventory levels, and ordering needs for the pastry department
  • Support cost‑management strategies through portioning, waste reduction, and product utilization
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and culinary leaders on menu planning and creative direction
  • Train and guide hourly culinary associates on pastry fundamentals and service standards
  • Participate in hiring, coaching, and developing team members
  • Support a positive kitchen culture built on learning, collaboration, and respect

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in pastry production within upscale dining, hotels, or high‑volume catering
  • Ability to demonstrate strong pastry fundamentals and a creative, quality‑focused approach
  • Knowledge of seasonal ingredients, menu development, and modern pastry trends
  • Understanding of food‑safety standards, sanitation practices, and HACCP principles
  • Comfort working with production schedules, ordering systems, and inventory tracking
  • Culinary or pastry degree
  • Approximately three years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic kitchen technology
