Job Summary
As Assistant Hospitality Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating catering events to meet the specific needs and expectations of clients. This includes overseeing the entire catering process, from initial client meetings to event execution, ensuring a seamless and high-quality catering experience.
Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their catering requirements, preferences, and budget constraints.
- Menu Planning: Collaborate with chefs to create customized menus that align with client preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Event Coordination: Coordinate all aspects of catering events, including logistics, staffing, setup, and breakdown.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of food, beverages, and other necessary items.
- Staff Supervision: Manage catering staff, including chefs, servers, and support staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to service standards.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for catering events, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Event Marketing: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote catering services and attract new clients.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as any relevant licensing requirements.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- A.S. or equivalent experience
- General Hospitality knowledge and interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices
- At least two years similar work experience in catering or event management.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food trends, catering industry practices, and regulations.
- Ability to interact with diverse and high-volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Ability to operate Web based ordering system, process customer requests, changes to orders, menu updates and client profiles.
- Ability to work at times with minimal supervision, and accomplish tasks without direct instruction, and problem solve for the best solutions.
Preferred Skills
• Creativity in menu planning and event design.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with catering software and technology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working Conditions:
