Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Director to lead the operations of a café within a corporate dining account. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of foodservice, including team leadership, financial performance, food quality, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational expertise, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct daily operations of the café, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
- Lead and manage all café staff including chefs, cooks, and front-of-house team members.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and company policies (HACCP, OSHA).
- Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to support growth and operational excellence.
- Handle scheduling, workflow, and service delivery to ensure smooth operations.
- Respond to customer feedback and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, guests, and internal departments.
- Utilize company systems (e.g., Webtrition, Compass OMS) for planning, reporting, and compliance.
- Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure financial accuracy.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and manage the annual budget and financial plans.
- Monitor performance metrics and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain product and service quality through regular evaluations.
- Implement sales and marketing initiatives to enhance customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations and company HR policies.
- Maintain preventative maintenance and security programs.
- Foster effective communication across all levels of staff.
- Plan and coordinate menus using approved systems and standards.
- Supervise food preparation and service to meet quality and safety standards.
- Ensure timely meal service and customer satisfaction.
- Complete required reports including inventory, payroll, and production records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in food service, nutrition, hospitality, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in foodservice or hospitality management.
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit and current ServSafe Certification required.
- Proven success in budget management and client relations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and foodservice management systems.
- Knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and operational compliance.
- Desire to grow within a leading foodservice organization.
