Job Summary
Position Title: Communications Manager – Internal Communications
Reports to: Communications Director
Location: Remote
Overview
The Communications Manager – Internal Communications is responsible for developing and delivering engaging, informative, and brand-aligned communications that connect, inform, and inspire employees across Chartwells. This role ensures that key organizational messages are effectively planned, executed, and measured, driving alignment and fostering a strong internal culture. The Manager will oversee company-wide communication channels, internal campaigns, and leadership support initiatives.
Key Priorities
1. Internal Communication Strategy – Plan and execute timely, consistent communications across the organization.
2. Employee Engagement – Create content and resources that inform, inspire, and connect employees to company goals and culture.
3. Channel Management – Optimize intranet, email, and event communication channels for maximum reach and usability.
4. Leadership Support – Partner with senior leaders to develop clear and impactful messaging.
5. Measurement & Improvement – Use analytics to evaluate communication effectiveness and continuously refine approaches.
Responsibilities
• Collect content, write copy, and manage distribution of company-wide communications and organizational announcements.
• Manage the calendar of company-wide communications to ensure consistent timing and alignment.
• Establish key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of internal communication strategies.
• Create monthly talking point toolkits for divisions to use during calls and meetings.
• Oversee the strategy of the company intranet (MyCompass) — analyzing data to improve usability, creating pages, and keeping content updated regularly.
• Manage distribution lists and the relationship with the email vendor, including planning for potential future transitions.
• Schedule and maintain the master company call calendar (All Hands Calls, client events, leadership webinars, etc.).
• Assist with the development of messaging and talking points for leadership team meetings and events.
• Create monthly team reports and track analytics for internal channels to measure reach, engagement, and impact.
• Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the organization’s brand identity, ensuring brand consistency in internal communication materials and activities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in corporate or internal communications.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with intranet platforms, email marketing tools, and analytics reporting.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels.
