Job Summary
Waveguide LLC is an independent AV, IT and acoustics consulting and design firm committed to providing superior service and comprehensive designs for our clients in a dynamic, collaborative, team environment. Our technology expertise includes audiovisual systems consulting and design, voice and data communications infrastructure, communication-friendly acoustic environments, and ongoing AV operations services. We work together as a team to create strategic technology plans, efficient building and infrastructure designs, and effective technology system solutions to drive the success of our clients’ organizations. The projects we work on result in productive acoustic environments and technology systems that support the way people live and work.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening as a Senior Acoustic Project Consultant. Remote / home-based work is anticipated as the primary workplace assuming the candidate meets the minimum home-office requirements. Candidates must have the ability to travel periodically (up to 30%) to attend in-person meetings and visit project sites. Overnight travel may be required to support projects and conferences located outside the candidate's home area.
In this role you are expected to provide project management, acoustical analysis, and design support for projects across a broad range of market segments including corporate, institutional, civic, education and government. Professional experience in architectural acoustics and building systems noise and vibration control is required. You will participate in project design team meetings, develop acoustical criteria for different project types, perform acoustical analysis, prepare acoustical recommendations, write reports and specifications, and coordinate with other design team members regarding project specific acoustical issues. You will also be expected to provide technical assistance and leadership to associate acoustic consultants. You will represent Waveguide at client meetings.

- Coordinate project requirements with internal and external teams
- Participate reviewing and developing proposals.
- Support in business development activities.
- Pursue ongoing professional growth and development of technical skills.
- Build relationships that ensure successes for both internal and external teams
- Assist and contribute to the Waveguide community.
Role Qualifications
- Four-year or higher degree in a relevant technical field (degree in engineering or science with a specialization in vibration and/or acoustics).
- 6-8 years of professional acoustical consulting experience are required.
- Proven expertise in educational, commercial, and institutional building design and construction.
- Proven experience in room acoustics, sound isolation, and building systems noise and vibration control.
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects and deliverables and shift priorities as necessary
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Bluebeam Revu.
- Suitable home-based work environment for audio and video calls.
- Up to 30% travel anticipated.
