Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Implementation: Ensure consistent application of Company HR policies.
  • Employee Relations: Provide objective coaching to associates and management through complex issues, guide disciplinary actions, and assist with investigations.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead hourly recruitment efforts and ensure smooth onboarding processes.
  • Recognition Programs: Maintain and coordinate associate recognition initiatives.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to all federal and state employment laws.
  • Data Analysis: Regularly review HR activity reports to inform decision-making.
  • Engagement & Feedback: Support internal customer and associate engagement surveys.
  • Training & Development: Conduct classroom training, implement HR initiatives, and present HR-related topics.
  • Equity & Consistency: Review pay increase and status change requests to maintain fairness.
  • Diversity Leadership: Champion diversity initiatives, including recruiting, retention, and promotion goals.
  • Career Development: Assist in creating Personal Development Plans and participate in the Annual Performance Appraisal process.


Qualifications:  

  • Union experience, required
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
  • Three plus years human resources generalist experience required; management experience a plus.
  • HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.
  • Previous experience as part of a centralized HR environment, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills; advanced skills preferred.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Strong presentation skills required.
  • Training certification a plus (i.e. Zenger-Miller, Stephen Covey, etc.).
