Job Summary

The Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Technician Supervisor is responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring a team of fire alarm and low voltage technicians. The supervisor plans and assigns work, ensures projects are completed on time and within budget, and maintains strict adherence to industry standards, regulations, and company policies under direction of the Unit Director/Fire Safety Assistant Director. The role serves as a key liaison for clients, engineers, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

Understand and implement Fire & Life Safety Policies in a healthcare setting.
Manage fire stopping, above ceiling program.
Participates in walk-throughs to ensure life safety compliance.
Manage the team’s preventative maintenance work order schedule to ensure compliance.
Facilitate the repairs of life safety components.
Collaborate with vendors to complete repairs and inspections.
Facilitate repairs for any troubles or supervisory issues on fire alarm panel.
Maintain all documentation of programs of responsibility.
Manage and implement in-service training program.
Perform necessary audits to ensure full compliance with joint commission standards and all governing agencies.
Perform all Manager responsibilities as requested by the Director/Assistant Director of Fire Safety
Lead the daily operations of a team of fire alarm and low voltage technicians, apprentices, and helpers.
Provide on-the-job technical guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
Manage technician schedules, approve timesheets, and enforce company policies.
Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions in coordination with human resources.
Ability to managed small to medium projects.

 

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Experience with fire alarm systems
Experience with access control systems
Customer service/people skills
Critical thinking skills
Analytical- computer skills

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in fire alarm systems.
Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of NFPA 1, 10,13, 72, 99, 101 and others is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems is required.
 A valid driver's license is required.
NICET Level III or above in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred.
DCJS License preferred.
