Salary:  $75,000 - $80,000

Job Summary

KIPP San Antonio, TX is seeking a dynamic, people-focused Director of Dining Services to lead a student nutrition program serving approximately 2,000 students across five schools located on two campuses. This unique structure provides operational efficiencies while still offering significant visibility and impact across the district. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in client relations, passionate about building strong partnerships with school leadership, and bring proven food service management experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

This leadership role oversees a team of approximately 15-20 Chartwells associates and will play a key role in driving engagement, program growth, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will lead the launch and implementation of several signature Chartwells programs, including Mood Boost, Global Eats, Student Choice, Discovery Kitchen, and the nutrition-focused Game On initiative. We're looking for a collaborative leader who enjoys developing teams, creating memorable dining experiences, and connecting with students, staff, and families while fostering a culture of service excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account
  • Maintains excellent relationships with the client
  • Works with the team to create nutritious, high-quality food for students
  • Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams
  • Acts as a liaison between Chartwells, the client, and the community
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the dining services operation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Management, Hospitality, Culinary, or Nutrition preferred; additional food service management experience
  • Three or more years of food service management experience
  • K-12 dining experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Financial acumen with strong business intuition
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful!
