Job Summary

As a Conference Setup & Logistics Operations Manager, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing the operational needs of the event setup department. You will coordinate the tasks of frontline location coordinator associates and serve as a liaison between Campus Administration and other Conference Services departments, providing the highest possible level of service.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and annually review standard operating procedures for the setup department.
  • Plan work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate service coverage daily from 6am – 10:30pm.
  • Attend and participate in weekly and monthly meetings to review unit finances, upcoming events, pre-planning and high-level event coordination.  Participate and contribute insight regarding event setup details.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and make recommendations to improve processes and procedures that enhance the service experience for residents at the Houston Campus.
  • Follow all EMHC campus safety policies and procedures and use all necessary safety equipment
  • Assist in the hiring process, including interviewing, hiring, and training new associates.
  • Orient, develop, and supervise all location coordinators/setup team members for both AM and PM shifts.
  • Conduct monthly reporting of goals, accomplishments, and future plans.
  • Provide staff development and continuous training for the setup department.
  • Communicate with staff, administration, and other departments at the Campus.
  • Coordinate outside services as needed or requested by management.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in support services, event setup, housekeeping, and/or facilities maintenance.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a support service-related field with high customer/client contact.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing and stressful environment.
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
  • Thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
