SPORTS ARENA BACKSTAGE CATERING LEAD

Job Summary

Summary: We will be hiring 2 Backstage Catering Leads. 1 will be required to work all Utah Jazz Home Games and  all concerts. 1 will be required to work all Utah Mammoth Home Games and all concerts. The Backstage Catering Leads are responsible for all backstage catering functions including but not  limited to broadcast, performers, players and media. The lead is responsible for setup, service and shutdown of all catering functions according to BEO requirements and Health & Safety standards, managing inventory and organizing back stock, and submission of all necessary paperwork at event close. This role ensures samless delivery of high-quality catering experiences of players, performers, VIP's and event staff. Due to often encounters of high-profile athletes and artists, an extreme level of discretion is required. The lead must be able to work independently, learn quickly and communicate clearly with multiple teams. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Setup of all buffet lines for backstage crew, athletes and performers. 
• Taking temperatures of cold and hot food to ensure proper service temperature according to health code requirements. 
• Ensure buffet lines stay clean, stocked and presentable during the duration of service. 
• Shutdown all buffet lines, sanitizing all equipment and organizing all product used during service. 
• Manage inventory and ensure organization of work areas. 
• Verify that all paperwork and temperature logs are properly filled out and submitted. 
• Address and resolve any service issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience in backstage or hospitality catering management, ideally within sports arenas, concert venues, or large-scale event spaces is preferred. 
• Strong leadership and team management sills. 
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Requied to work all Utah Jazz or Utah Mammoth homegames and all concerts. 
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Must obtain valid Utah Food Handlers Permit. 
• Must obtain valid utah On-Premise Alcohol Certificate (required for age 21+).
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for extanded periods and work in a physically demanding environment.
