Job Summary
Summary: WE ARE SEEKING A DEDICATED AND SKILLED SUITES LEAD COOK TO OVERSEE FOOD PREPARATION AND SERVICE IN OUR LUXURY SUITES DURING UTAH JAZZ & UTAH MAMMOTH GAMES AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS. THE LEAD COOK WILL REPORT TO THE SUITES CHEF AND SUPERVISOR, AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSISTING IN DAILY KITCHEN OPERATIONS, AND ENSURING THAT ALL FOOD ITEMS MEET QUALITY, PRESENTATION, AND SAFETY STANDARDS. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS ORGANIZED, DETAIL-ORIENTED, AND CAPABLE OF WORKING EFFICIENTLY IN A HIGH-VOLUME, FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines for suite-level service.
- Ensure all dishes are delivered hot, fresh, and on time during high-pressure event setting.
- Lead and guide the kitchen line staff during events and service periods.
- Monitor pacing and timing to ensure smooth, coordinated execution of suite orders.
- Support and communicate effectively with the supervisor and suites chef.
- Assist in training new line cooks and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
- Ensure stations are stocked, clean, and organized before and after each event.
- Track prep levels and communication needs for restocking adjustments.
- Follow all health department regulations and company food safety.
- Keep work stations clean and sanitized throughout service.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in high-volume or upscale kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.s
- Attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule.
- Great physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as lift moderate weight.
- Must obtain valid Utah Food Handlers Permit or Manager Food Safety Certificate.
