Job Summary
Position Summary
The Catering Manager oversees all aspects of catering operations, including event execution, team leadership, and client service. This role is responsible for training associates, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring high-quality service delivery from setup through breakdown. The Catering Manager partners with culinary and operations teams to deliver exceptional experiences while managing labor and food costs.
Key Responsibilities
Event Operations
- Supervise and execute all catering events, ensuring quality and consistency
- Oversee event setup, service, cleanup, and breakdown procedures
- Manage logistics, sanitation, and facility-related activities
Team Leadership & Training
- Train and develop catering associates on service techniques, presentation, and customer service
- Direct temporary staff and ensure alignment with service standards
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication
- Coordinate with management, clients, and staff to ensure expectations are met
Financial & Operational Management
- Track and manage labor and food costs for each event
- Support overall foodservice operations and continuous improvement efforts

- Leads and develops a high-performing service team
- Manages multiple events and priorities effectively
- Maintains strong cost control and operational discipline
Qualifications
- 2+ years of food service experience, including 1+ year in a leadership role
- Catering experience required; background in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, healthcare, education, or similar environments preferred
- Knowledge of food trends, production, sanitation, and cost control
- Strong financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- ServSafe certification required
