Job Summary

Position Summary

The System Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the operational, financial, and customer service performance of multiple retail locations across a healthcare system. This role provides leadership and direction to retail teams, ensuring consistent execution of company standards, achievement of financial objectives, and delivery of exceptional customer experiences. The System Retail Manager collaborates closely with hospital leadership, clinical partners, vendors, and support teams to optimize retail performance and enhance the overall patient, visitor, and employee experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of multiple retail locations within the healthcare system.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, healthcare facility requirements, food safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess standards, identify opportunities, and provide coaching to management teams.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and oversee ordering, merchandising, and product availability.

Financial Management

  • Manage profit and loss performance for assigned retail locations.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve revenue growth, labor management, and expense control targets.
  • Analyze financial reports, sales trends, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, inventory controls, and financial reporting procedures.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop retail management staff and frontline associates.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and create development plans for team members.
  • Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure proper staffing levels.

Customer Experience

  • Create an environment focused on exceptional customer service.
  • Address customer concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop promotional initiatives and merchandising strategies to drive traffic and sales.
  • Ensure retail environments are welcoming, clean, and visually appealing.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Build strong partnerships with hospital administrators, department leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide operational updates and business reviews.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure product quality, cost effectiveness, and service excellence.
  • Support system-wide initiatives and strategic growth opportunities.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Hospitality Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive retail management experience.
  • Multi-unit leadership experience with responsibility for financial performance.
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and merchandising.
  • Experience managing budgets, labor costs, and operational metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail reporting systems.
  • Ability to travel between assigned locations.
