Job Summary

As a District Manager, you will lead and support a portfolio of dining service accounts within a defined territory. You will provide strategic oversight, operational leadership, and financial accountability, working closely with on-site teams to ensure outstanding service delivery and client satisfaction. The District Manager is responsible for driving performance, developing talent, and partnering with senior leadership to align operations with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and community needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and mentor a cross-functional team of Resident District Managers and/or Directors of Dining Services, ensuring operational excellence and high levels of team engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a strategic partner and brand ambassador for assigned accounts.
  • Drive financial performance, including full ownership of the P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting accuracy across all locations in the territory.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Retention teams on proposal development and support the full lifecycle of new and existing business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local foodservice regulations, quality assurance standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and implement continuous improvement strategies across all accounts.
  • Champion a culture of safety and inclusivity; oversee training, allergy awareness, and workplace safety programs.
  • Lead leadership development and succession planning initiatives; conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth.
  • Participate in regional leadership meetings to share best practices, address challenges, and support organizational initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at client and community events, reinforcing organizational values and strengthening partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve challenges, analyze risk, and evaluate short- and long-term impacts of decisions.
  • Ensure timely completion of required administrative reporting and adherence to all company procedures and policies.
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory to provide on-site support and leadership visibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Hospitality Management, Food Services, or a related field is strongly preferred; a minimum of 5 years of dynamic multi-unit foodservice or hospitality leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong experience leading contract-based operations with direct P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow business, drive financial results, and execute critical initiatives.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on team development, performance coaching, and succession planning.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Flexible, collaborative, and committed to fostering inclusive and positive workplace cultures.
