Position Title: General Manager

Salary: $110,000 - $120,000

Other Forms of Compensation: Annual Performance Bonus Opportunity (Up to 20% of Base Salary)

Job Summary

Compass Group is seeking a collaborative and business-minded General Manager to lead a high-profile dining operation in San Francisco. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, financial performance, client relationships, team development, and guest satisfaction while fostering an engaging and inclusive workplace culture.
 
This opportunity is ideal for a hospitality leader who enjoys building strong teams, creating exceptional guest experiences, and driving operational excellence across foodservice programs. The General Manager will partner with culinary, operations, and client stakeholders to deliver innovative dining solutions and support long-term account success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for foodservice operations, ensuring a positive experience for guests, clients, and team members
  • Develop strong partnerships with clients and serve as the primary point of contact for operational needs and strategic initiatives
  • Lead, coach, and support managers and associates through regular communication, development, and recognition
  • Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth, and cost management
  • Monitor operational standards and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with culinary and hospitality teams to enhance dining programs and guest engagement
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention efforts
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety standards
  • Analyze operational data and key performance indicators to support business decisions
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and service-focused culture

What We're Looking For

  • Experience leading hospitality, foodservice, corporate dining, restaurant, hotel, or multi-unit operations
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, guests, and team members
  • Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and operational performance
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to developing people and creating an environment where teams can thrive
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership
  • Passion for hospitality, service excellence, and delivering meaningful guest experiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Experience managing large-scale foodservice or corporate dining operations
  • Background leading multiple service platforms, including cafés, catering, executive dining, retail, or conference services
  • Experience with financial planning, forecasting, and client management
  • ServSafe Certification or similar food safety credential preferred
