Job Summary
The Catering Sales & Operations Manager at Adobe Lodge oversees weddings, high-profile university events, and weekday Faculty Café lunch service. This role combines sales with event execution—managing client relationships, booking and planning events, coordinating logistics, and leading staff. Working closely with the Executive Chef, student workers, and temporary event staff, the manager also supports campus-wide catering, ensuring service excellence, profitability, and adherence to Bon Appétit standards of safety, sustainability, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for catering inquiries, proposals, tastings, and contracts.

Build long-term client relationships with university stakeholders, alumni, and external groups.

Partner with marketing to promote event spaces and offerings.

Plan and execute weddings, receptions, private dinners, and high-profile university events.

Collaborate with the culinary team on custom menus and guest experiences.

Oversee all event logistics, rentals, staffing, service, and teardown.

Manage weekday Faculty Café lunch service, ensuring high-quality dining.

Recruit, train, and schedule student and temporary staff.

Maintain vendor partnerships and manage third-party providers.

Track event profitability, labor, and food costs; manage BEOs, invoicing, and reporting.

Contribute to catering team strategy and foster a collaborative, inclusive culture.
Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of catering sales or event management experience (weddings/large-scale events required).

Restaurant experience strongly preferred.

Skilled in managing variable schedules and dynamic staffing needs.

Strong communication, organizational, and client service skills.

Comfortable in high-profile, high-expectation environments.

Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends (typically Tuesday–Saturday).
