Salary:  $55,000 - $65,000 / year

Job Summary

As the Assistant General Manager at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), you will be instrumental in managing the daily operations of a dynamic, high-volume campus dining environment. This leadership role is focused on evening and weekend operations (Sunday–Thursday, 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., off Friday and Saturday), ideal for hospitality professionals who excel during peak student engagement hours.

In this hands-on position, you will lead a dedicated team, ensure high standards of food and service quality, and help achieve operational and financial goals. A commitment to excellence, hospitality, and client satisfaction is essential. Flexibility to support special events is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of food service operations, ensuring alignment with budgets and delivering maximum client value.

  • Maintain high standards of food quality and service for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

  • Build strong relationships with associates, campus stakeholders, and clients.

  • Provide daily leadership, oversee quality assurance, and ensure operational efficiency.

  • Perform additional duties as needed to ensure program success.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be available for PM shifts (Sunday–Thursday, 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), with flexibility for special events.
  • 2–4 years of progressive food service management experience in campus dining, restaurants, hotels, healthcare, corporate, or military settings.

  • Strong operational and culinary knowledge, including purchasing and cost control.

  • Demonstrated financial and business acumen.

  • ServSafe Certification preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and internet-based applications.

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
