Position Summary

The Bookkeeping Intern will support the finance team with daily accounting and administrative tasks while gaining hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and business operations.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with data entry of financial transactions.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Organize and maintain financial records.
  • Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Support month-end closing activities.
  • Assist with payroll documentation as needed.
  • Complete general administrative and special project assignments.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

 

Preferred

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related program.
  • Previous office or customer service experience.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.

This is a paid intern position; however, it is not eligible for paid time off (PTO) or benefits such as medical, dental, vision, etc.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff.
