Job Summary
The Operations Specialist leads and supports a team of field technicians responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial kitchen equipment across customer locations. This role drives organized, efficient operations by overseeing daily scheduling, coordinating service activities, and ensuring clear communication across technicians, clients, and internal teams. The manager provides technical guidance, fosters a culture of safety and accountability, and ensures high‑quality service delivery and strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, schedule, and support technicians performing installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment.
Provide hands‑on technical solution-based guidance for complex service issues and ensure high‑quality workmanship.
Oversee preventive maintenance and repair activities in compliance with manufacturers guidelines, company standards, and safety requirements.
Assign and dispatch work orders and provide day-to-day leadership for the Seattle-based self-perform technician team.
Maintain and utilize the CMMS for work tracking, scheduling, inventory management, dispatching, and invoicing.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders, service reports, technician timekeeping, and invoicing documentation in alignment with KPI expectations.
Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and technicians to manage service requests, parts needs, and escalations.
Determine material and manpower requirements to support efficient service delivery.
Manage inventory of parts, materials, and consumables; verify usage, monitor stock levels, and support replenishment.
Monitor labor and material costs, control expenses, and support adherence to budget expectations.
Adhere to approved purchasing programs and vendor agreements.
Oversee proper care, organization, and accountability of technician tools and equipment, and service vehicles, including compliance with Holman’s vehicle program.
Champion a strong culture of safety by modeling safe work practices, enforcing company safety programs and regulatory requirements, and ensuring technicians consistently follow established procedures.
Respond to urgent service needs and assist with after‑hours or high priority situations as required.
Participate in hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations for technicians.
Qualifications
Experience managing technicians or leading service teams in commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC/R, refrigeration, or related technical fields.
Strong technical troubleshooting skills with commercial kitchen equipment (hot-side and/or cold-side), including electrical, mechanical, basic plumbing, and gas-fired systems.
Proficiency with CMMS or service management software for scheduling work tracking, and inventory management.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a field‑based team.
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Valid driver's license required.
Demonstrates initiative, accountability, flexibility, and effective leadership.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strong follow-through.
