Job Summary

Clinical Dietitian. Compass Group USA, Inc. Springfield, IL. Embedded at client site, screen patients to identify potential nutrition risk. Assess patient nutrition status by systematically collecting, recording, and interpreting relevant data from patients, clients, family members, and caregivers. Find relationships among nutrition assessment data to identify nutrition problems that can be resolved or improved through treatment/nutrition intervention. Write the PES (problem, etiology, and signs/symptom) statement including root cause and evidence of nutrition diagnosis. Formulate a nutrition intervention plan that prioritizes urgency, impact, and available resources. Utilize evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines and other practice guidelines, coordinate care with other health care providers, and consider patients’/clients’ values and expected outcomes. Identify and determine progress made to goals/expected outcomes. Monitor and measure outcomes. Document relevant, accurate, and timely information in the patient’s electronic medical record. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, rounds, medical conferences, and nutrition-related in-services. Serve as a resource on nutrition issues. Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients, families and caregivers, and the community. Work collaboratively with foodservice staff and ambulatory dietitian(s) to assure conformance with and continuation of nutrition care plan. Assist in the education of nutrition and dietetics students and interns. Plan learning experiences and evaluate performance. Participate in facility-wide and department Quality Assurance/ Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program and on QAPI teams to improve processes and patient care. Work M – F on variable 8 - 9 hour shift, typically within 7 am – 5 pm range, with rotating weekends and holidays. Other work beyond the scheduled hours is occasionally necessary to meet patient care demands. Salary: $61,828.00/year.

Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Food Science, Biology, or related field or foreign equivalent. Must be Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist with IDFPR. All hires must submit to a drug screen and background check.
