Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations in a 425-bed hospital, serving an average of 350 patients per meal. This role also includes managing a high-traffic retail café with 1,800 customers daily, as well as a robust catering program. You will lead a team of 25 kitchen staff and be responsible for food production, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment
- Plan and execute regular and modified menus in accordance with established nutritional and operational guidelines
- Prepare or supervise meal preparation following standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- Conduct quality checks by tasting meals and reviewing production and waste logs
- Train kitchen staff on food preparation, safety, equipment use, and sanitation procedures
- Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for all kitchen equipment and work areas
- Manage inventory of food and supplies, ensuring availability while staying within budget
- Make informed decisions on the use of leftover food in compliance with company policies
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and client satisfaction initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, preferably in high-volume or healthcare settings
- Extensive catering experience is a plus
- Strong background in institutional and batch cooking
- Proven hands-on leadership in complex foodservice operations
- In-depth knowledge of food trends, sanitation standards, food cost control, and presentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and internet tools
- ServSafe certification highly desirable
- Experience with P&L accountability and client satisfaction programs
