SOUS CHEF – TAMPA, FL

THE OPPORTUNITY
Partner with the Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, develop menus, and keep food quality, presentation, and service running strong. You’ll work alongside the culinary team, coach associates, support catered events, and help bring fresh ideas to the kitchen.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation.
- Help supervise, train, and develop hourly culinary associates.
- Partner with the Executive Chef on menu planning, recipe execution, and new culinary offerings.
- Support purchasing, ordering, inventory, and production planning to control costs and reduce waste.
- Help manage food and labor expenses while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Plan and execute catering and special events with attention to timing, flavor, and presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and uphold food safety and sanitation standards.
- Introduce new culinary programs in partnership with company culinary and marketing teams.
- Support client satisfaction initiatives and respond to feedback with practical improvements.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Progressive culinary experience with kitchen leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- An associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong cooking fundamentals and a commitment to consistent quality.
- The ability to organize production, prioritize tasks, and lead in a busy kitchen.
- Knowledge of food cost controls, inventory, sanitation, and current food and catering trends.
- Clear communication skills and a team-first approach.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and email.
- Catering and high-volume foodservice experience preferred.
- Institutional or batch cooking experience helpful.
- ServSafe certification highly desirable.
