Join FISD as a Resident District Manager (RDM) at Carrollwood Day School - Tampa, FL

FISD is currently seeking a strategic, innovative, and client-focused Resident District Manager (RDM) to lead all foodservice operations at Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, FL. This position is ideal for a results-driven leader with a strong background in contract foodservice.

 

Carrollwood Day School is a respected co-educational K–12 day school in the heart of Tampa, Florida, serving over 1,300 students and 225 faculty and staff. For more than a decade, FISD has proudly supported this vibrant school community with exceptional dining services—including breakfast, lunch, athletic meals, high-end catering, and concessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all foodservice operations on campus across three cafeteria-style dining locations, sports meals, catering, and concession events
  • Manage and mentor a team of 2 salaried direct reports (Executive Chef and Catering Manager) and approximately 25 hourly associates
  • Serve as the primary liaison with school leadership, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring contract compliance
  • Deliver on key performance indicators, including financial performance, service quality, food safety, team development, and innovation
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to support creative menu development and sustainability efforts
  • Represent the foodservice team within the school community and at key events, serving as the on-site brand ambassador
  • Own all aspects of financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, and cost controls
  • Oversee compliance with all USDA, local, state, federal, and internal food safety and regulatory requirements
  • Foster a team culture focused on transparency, education, accountability, and professional growth
  • Utilize systems such as CaterTrax and Microsoft Office to manage catering orders, documentation, and performance reporting
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and service excellence while modeling proactive and professional leadership
  • Must be available for occasional weekend work to support athletic or special events as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar or equivalent senior foodservice leadership role
  • Prior contract foodservice experience required; K–12 or independent school experience preferred
  • Proven success managing fee-based accounts with significant volume
  • Strong leadership, operational, and financial management capabilities
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in catering/event management platforms (e.g., CaterTrax) and Microsoft Office
  • Seeking local candidates (reside in or within commuting distance to Tampa, FL)
  • ServSafe Certification required or must be obtained upon hire
