Job Summary
Bring your culinary creativity and leadership to one of the nation's premier universities. Bentley University is seeking a talented Catering Sous Chef to help deliver exceptional dining and event experiences for students, faculty, staff, and guests. In this role, you'll work alongside a dynamic culinary team, creating high-quality menus, executing memorable catered events, and inspiring kitchen associates through hands-on leadership.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support daily catering and culinary operations
- Coordinate food production, preparation, and presentation for events and special functions
- Assist with menu development and the launch of innovative culinary programs
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
- Train, coach, and motivate kitchen team members to deliver exceptional results
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of culinary experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role
- Experience in high-volume foodservice, catering, restaurants, hotels, higher education, healthcare, or corporate dining
- Strong knowledge of food trends, production, cost controls, sanitation, and presentation
- Proven leadership, training, and team development skills
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Culinary degree preferred
